Our June trip to Lightovation was a SIZZLER. The biannual lighting event was filled with exciting product releases and hot new finish combinations that our team was eager to share. Here is a highlight of this year’s trip featuring our team member Hilary’s top picks from LIGHTOVATION.
THE EDGY ORGANIC-
Rustic and elegant, organic and edgy, these distinct chandeliers from Fredrick Ramond’s Spyre Collection have rich hand-hammered finishes and captivating silhouettes, making for a dramatic lighting statement wherever they are placed. The uniquely designed structures were a definite stand out this market trip and left a lasting artistic impression. Strange-beautiful? Maybe…but beautiful, indeed.
THE POP OF COLOR-
In need of a that perfect pop of color? The Kiki collection from Mitzi might steal your hearts just as it did ours. Available in four enameled colors, two metal finishes and two different sizes, the Kiki pendant is the perfect elevated take on a retro-inspired look. The fresh color options of soft pink, mint, navy and cream complement the warm brass and polished nickel metal accents beautifully. Such a playful new collection- Hilary loved them all!
THE ABSTRACT CHANDELIER-
We love a good statement chandelier for a space- and this stunning piece from Arteriors Home was nothing short of a showstopper. Comprised of over 150 metal disks, the Calliope chandelier is a visual force to be reckoned with. This fixture’s unique design allows brilliant shadows to be cast in every which direction creating a sophisticated blend of art and illumination. Simply stunning.
THE SMALL FLUSH-
The petite flush mount ceiling fixture was all the rage this year. Typically designed in diameters of 10″ or less, these small-but-mighty fixtures are perfect for an accent area, small closet or hallway- and can be utilized in lieu of recessed lighting to add a stylish point of interest to any space. Hudson Valley Lighting had most of our favorite fixtures in this trend category. Their Ainsley, Bourne, and Lettie collections were some of Hilary’s overall top picks. We predict this to be one of the hottest lighting trends of the upcoming year.
THE ARCHITECTURALLY INTRIGUING-
A beautiful blend of contemporary styling and architectural lines, the Aiko collection, also from Mitzi, was such a visually intriguing product line. The perforated metal shades produced dramatic light play and created a sense of whimsy and wonder when illuminated. Hilary loved the ultra-modern vibe this collection exuded. It definitely felt like the cool “new kid” on the lighting block.
THE NEW PREPPY-
Clean lines, contrasting details and a timeless black and white finish combination- The Tux Collection from Capital Lighting was one of our favorite new collections at market this year. It took preppy styling to the next level with its two-tone, black tie finish and structured style lines. The collection had an almost nautical vibe to it, and we were totally “on board”.
